LATROBE, Pa. (Jan. 15) -- The Thiel College Wrestling team dropped a 38-6 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual Thursday evening at Saint Vincent College from the Robert S. Carey Center.

The Tomcats dip to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in league action while the Bearcats improve to 3-1 (2-1).

EJ McCarthy (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) got the Tomcats off to a strong start with a 9-6 OT decision over Dylan Klim at 125 pounds to put the Blue and Gold ahead 3-0.

McCarthy improves to 3-3 on the year with his first dual victory of the season.

Zachery Ward (Girard, Ohio/Girard) picked up Thiel's other victory on the night as he logged a 7-3 decision over Nathan Barkley at 184 pounds.

Ward rises to 7-4 on the season with three victories by decision.

The Tomcats are back on the mats next Thursday for their home opener against Bethany in PAC action at 7 p.m.
