MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- The Thiel College Women's Outdoor Track and Field teams competed at the PAC Championships held at West Virginia University all day Thursday and Friday.
Thiel's Women's team placed 11th out of 11 schools with 11 points.
Sha'nia Stiers-Royal (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown-Fitch) set a new personal record and Division III placing of 82nd in the high jump. She placed second in the event with 1.60m on day two.
On day one, there were two events that took place in the field and on the track.
In the 3000m steeplechase, Brooke Griffith (Chicora, Pa./Karns City) placed 17th with a personal best of 13:48.98.
In the triple jump, Alexis McFadden (Kennerdell, Pa./Franklin Area) placed sixth with 10.63m and hit a season's best.
On day two, more athletes competed in six events on the track and in the field.
In the 800m run, Lillianna Briscoe (Beaver Falls, Pa./Quigley Catholic) placed in 10th with a personal best of 2:26.42. Madalyn Semmler (Butler, Pa./Butler) ran a 2:43.18 and laced 20th.
In the 5000m run, Griffith ran a 23:27.82 to take 22nd place.
In the long jump, McFadden placed seventh with 4.95m and Stiers-Royal jumped 4.63m to place 15th.
In the shot put, Brooke Mottley (Rock Creek, Ohio/Geneva) had a season best of 9.28m and placed 20th. Cydney Wierzbowski (Derry, Pa./Derry) threw 8.71m for a personal best and placed 24th. Kaylee Bensink (Wattsburg, Pa./Seneca) placed 28th with 7.66m.
In the discus throw, Wierzbowski threw 28.95m to place 17th and Mottley placed 20th with 28.33 and a season best.
