INDIANA, Pa. -- The Thiel College Women's Outdoor Track and Field program competed at the Ed Fry Invitational hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pa. all day Saturday.
Brooke Griffith (Chicora, Pa./Karns City) ran the 5000m in 22:30.34 to place fifth and set a new personal best.
Brooke Mottley (Rock Creek, Ohio/Geneva) and Kaylee Bensink (Wattsburg, Pa./Seneca) both participated in the discus throw. Mottley placed eighth with 24.92m and Bensink placed ninth with 20.68m and set a new personal best.
Mottley also placed 11th in the hammer throw with 26.68m and 15th in shot put with 8.33m.
Alexis McFadden (Kennerdell, Pa./Franklin Area) had the highest place finish out of the women's team with 9.96m in the triple jump where she placed second.
Sha'nia Stiers-Royal (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown-Fitch) finished in third place in the high jump with 1.55m.
McFadden and Stiers-Royal placed in the long jump, McFadden with 4.72m and Stiers-Royal with 4.61m.
Marissa Tiber (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) placed ninth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 19.45.
Imogen deBlois (Hubbard, Ohio/Howland) finished 13th in the 400m with a time of 1:06.44.
Lillianna Briscoe (Beaver Falls, Pa./Quigley Catholic) ran the 800m in 2:36.44 to place in the 12th spot.
The Tomcats are back in action on Friday, March 28 at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh, Pa.
