Liggett secures third career shutout, Women’s Lacrosse stuns Geneva 19-0

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Thiel College Women's Lacrosse team soared over Geneva College 19-0 in their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match-up Monday afternoon at Wright Fields. 

Thiel advances to 9-2 on the regular season and 3-2 in conference play, as Geneva drops to 0-11 overall and 0-5 in the PAC. 

Goalkeeper Madison Liggett (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) was only faced with seven shots, making four saves and picking up four ground balls. The 19-0 shutout is Liggett's third of her career. 

Senior Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) had seven goals, including two free position goals. Ashlyn dished out four assists, picked up eight ground balls and had 11 draw controls.  

Skylar Garlick (Fort Loudon, Pa./James Buchanan) and Jade Mazzoni (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) each had four goals, both scoring two in the third quarter. Garlick also dished out three assists and picked up a ground ball as Mazzoni had three draw controls.  

Hayden Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) added a pair of goals, one in the first quarter and a man down goal in the fourth.  

Junior Aidrianna Green (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool) picked up a career-high nine ground balls, had four caused turnovers, and her first goal of her college career. 

Briney Stilinovich (Long Beach, Calif./Los Alamitos) scored a goal in the first quarter and grabbed three draw controls.  

The Tomcats are back in action on Saturday, April 12 when they travel to Meadville, Pa. to take on the Allegheny Gators. The PAC contest is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
