GREENVILLE, Pa. — The Thiel Women's Lacrosse team dropped their last regular season Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest 13-2 to Grove City College Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.
Before today's match up, Thiel honored seniors Annie Boyd (Baltimore, Md./Institute of Notre Dame), Skylar Garlick (Fort Loudon, Pa./James Buchanan), Fiona Shaffer (Fairmount City, Pa./Redbank Valley), Madison Liggett (Baltimore, Md./Catholic), and Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler).
Thiel falls to 11-4 overall and 5-4 in conference play, as Grove City advances to 10-6 on the regular season, and 9-0 in the PAC.
With her first save of the game, Liggett secured her 500th save of her career, continuing to make her Thiel's all time record holder. On the day, she collected 13 saves and a team high five ground balls.
In the fourth quarter, Wightman had Thiel's only two goals, the first assisted by Garlick.
Wightman had five draw controls and two ground balls.
The Tomcats are back in action on Tuesday, April 29th when they compete in the quarter finals of the PAC Championship Tournament. Thiel is ranked in the fifth spot out of six and will travel to New Wilmington, Pa. to take on the No. 4 Westminster Titans.
