BOARDMAN, Ohio (April 26) -- The Thiel College Men's Golf team placed 8th of 9 teams at the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships from Millcreek Golf Course-South in Boardman, Ohio Saturday.
Heading into the spring portion of the championships, the Tomcats were ninth after shooting a 332 in round one and a 352 in round two. The Blue and Gold carded a 309 as a team yesterday and a 313 today to place eighth, just five strokes behind Bethany for seventh. Allegheny took the team title with a plus-49 team score.
Eli Nicklas (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy) carded a team-best 74, which was tied for third lowest of the day amongst the field. He finish tied for 27th in the championship with 324 strokes. He shot one-over on the front nine and three-over on the back nine as he totaled 14 pars on the day and four bogeys.
Jackson Gadsby (Sandy Lake, Pa./Lakeview) logged a 75 in round four and totaled 324 strokes to tie with Nicklas for 27th. Gadsby was two-over on the front nine and three-over on the last nine. He birdied the par-five fourth and notched 11 pars, including five straight from holes 12 through 16.
Marc Knox (Franklin, Pa./Franklin) finished 30th for the championship with 330 strokes. He shot an 84 in the final round with seven pars.
Patrick Belback (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) carded an 82 in round four and 332 total strokes to finish 32nd. He finished with eight pars on the day.
Joe Grundy (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) finished with an 82 in the last round and 345 strokes for the championship to finish tied for 35th. Grundy had seven pars and one birdie for the day.
