Women's Lacrosse dominates their fourth straight win over Gators

BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Thiel Women's Lacrosse team soared over Notre Dame of Maryland University 21-3 in their fourth straight victory of the season Tuesday afternoon. 

The Tomcats advance to 4-0 on the season, as the Gators fall to 0-4. Thiel's 4-0 start is tied for the best start in program history along with their 2024 season.  

Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) and Hayden Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) dominated the second half on a 9-0 run to keep Notre Dame scoreless in the third and fourth quarters; Ashlyn with four goals, and Hayden with three.  

The sister duo put up a combined 17 points throughout the game, Ashlyn with nine goals and three assists along with 14 draw controls, and Hayden with four goals and one assist.  

Briney Stilinovich (Long Beach, Calif./Los Alamitos) added three goals as Jade Mazzoni (New Alexandria, Pa./Greensburg Salem) had a pair herself. Fiona Shaffer (Fairmount City, Pa./Redbank Valley), Skylar Garlick (Fort Loudon, Pa./James Buchanan), and Makayla Flock (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) each added one as well.  

Goalkeeper Madison Liggett (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) made nine saves on the day and picked up one ground ball.  

The Tomcats are back in action on Monday, March 17th when they travel to Hamburg, N.Y. to take on the Hilbert Hawks. The non-conference match-up will take place at 7 p.m. at Frontier High School.
