PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team tied with the La Roche Redhawks, 1-1, on the road Saturday afternoon.

An early La Roche goal gave the hosts a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

Sophomore Pierson Badowski (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) equalized for the Tomcats, leading to the game finishing 1-1.

Thiel was led by Badowski who scored his first goal of the season. Freshman Mitchell Strauss (Bradford Pa./Bradford Area) provided the assist, while Carson Davis also recorded a shot on goal.

La Roche was led by Malvin Madzimbamuto who recorded four shots. Ethan Illerbun recorded the Redhawks' only goal.

In net, Bryce Stefanowicz (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) recorded five saves for the Tomcats.

For La Roche, Maddox Anderson recorded one save.

The Tomcats return to Alumni Stadium in Wednesday when they host the Penn State New Kensington Lions. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
