GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College softball team lost a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) games Saturday to the Westminster Titans at Tomcat Park. Westminster won 8-0 in the first game and 8-3 in the second game.
Game 2: Westminster 8, Thiel 3
Thiel cut Westminster's lead in half (2-1) in the fourth inning when
Kylie Heid (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley) hit an RBI-triple down the right field line.
The Titans responded with four runs in the fifth inning and two more runs in the seventh inning to secure the conference sweep.
Thiel scratched out two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, the first of which came on
Kayla Roddy's (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) single to center field.
Riley Ladd (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) drove in the second run on a double to right field.
Heid went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, a run scored and an RBI. Roddy went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Ladd went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
Game 1: Westminster 8, Thiel 0
Westminster's Madison Brown struck out four batters and allowed just two hits through five innings to lead her team to an 8-0 win.

Lauren Bonner (Hermitage, Pa./Reynolds) both singled for the Tomcats.

The Tomcats will play the Franciscan Barons on the road Tuesday. The first game of the PAC doubleheader is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
