GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Grove City Wolverines, 12-4, on the road Tuesday afternoon.
Grove City led 4-0 at halftime, before Thiel cut the lead to 6-2 early in the fourth quarter. However, the Wolverines would close the game on a 6-2 run to seal the conference win.
Thiel was led by
Heaven Fitch (Baltimore, Md./Greater Grace Christian Academy) who recorded two goals.
Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) and Briney Stillinovich also recorded a goal.
Mary Cassano (Fairview, Pa./McDowell) caused three turnovers, while Wightman recorded seven draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Madison Nazigian led Grove City with five goals and one assist. Tori Stevenson and Lucy Martin each recorded two goals as well. Amber Wartman caused seven turnovers.
In goal for Thiel,
Madison Liggett (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) made six saves.
Elyse Kiggins made seven saves for Grove City.
The Tomcats return to Alumni Stadium on Saturday against Saint Vincent for Senior Day. The conference game is scheduled to begin at noon.
