BETHANY, W.Va. – The Thiel College softball team lost a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) games Saturday on the road to the Bethany Bison. Bethany won 8-0 in the first game and 9-4 in the second game.
Game 1: Bethany 8, Thiel 0
Bethany senior Josie Wise threw a one-hitter and struck out nine batter in an 8-0 win.
Mila Brdar (White Oak, Pa./McKeesport) broke up the no-hitter in the sixth inning.
Game 2: Bethany 9, Thiel 4
Bethany held a 5-0 lead after two innings.
Marsha Foreman (Bonita Springs, Fla./Bonita Springs) drove in Thiel's first run in the third inning on a double to left field.
Bethany picked up a run in the fifth inning before Thiel plated three runs in the sixth on
Abby Rottman's (Hilliards, Pa./Moniteau) RBI-single to right field, which was aided by a Bethany error. Bethany responded with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the conference sweep.
Rottman went 4-for-4 with one RBI.
Mackenzie Herman (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) went 3-for-4 with a run scored. Foreman went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI.
Thiel will face the Allegheny Gators on the road Sunday. The first game of the conference twinbill will start at 11:30 a.m.
