GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team opened Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play Wednesday with an 18-1 win over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets at Alumni Stadium.
Thiel's
Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) led all players with eight points (7G, 1A). She also recorded eight ground balls, seven draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Jocelyn Denihan (Conneautville, Pa/Conneaut Area) tallied five points on three goals and two assists, all of which were single-game career-highs.
Makayla Flock (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) scored two goals.

Briney Stilinovich (Long Beach, Calif./Los Alamitos),
Cassie Kaufman (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem),
Skylar Garlick (Fort Loudon, Pa./James Buchanan),
Shayla Foster (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool) and
Hayden Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) scored one goal apiece for the Tomcats.
Angelina Darpino scored Waynesburg's goal.
Thiel's
Madison Liggett (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) made five saves to improve to 5-1 on the season. She also recorded her first career assist. Diana Gurecka made 12 saves for Waynesburg.
Thiel will host the Alfred Saxons Saturday at Alumni Stadium. The non-conference game will start at noon.
