HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team dropped an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) game to the Hilbert Hawks, 3-2, on the road Wednesday night.
Hilbert won the first two sets 28-26, 25-23, before Thiel rallied to win the next two sets, 25-11, 25-22 to force a fifth set. Hilbert took the fifth set 16-14.
Thiel was led by
Will Zimmerman (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley) who recorded 17 kills and three digs.
Connor McInnis (Southington, Conn./Southington) recorded five kills and 12 digs, while
David Gonzalez (El Paso, Texas/Eastwood) recorded 10 kills and six digs.
Cameron Long (Rock Hill, S.C./Legion Collegiate Academy) recorded a game-high 18 digs, while
Ethan Cooper (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) recorded a team-high 27 assists.
Hilbert was led by Brad Converse who recorded a game-high 21 kills to go along with 14 digs. Alex Overhoff recorded nine kills and 15 digs, while Austin chandler recorded 14 digs and a game-high 46 assists.
The Tomcats are back in action on Monday when they travel to Carlow. The AMCC game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
