GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team defeated the Wells Express, 3-0, in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) game Wednesday night inside Maenpa Court at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats won in straight sets with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-20.
Thiel was led by
Kaleb Proudfoot (Butler, Pa./Butler) who recorded five kills, eight blocks and three digs.
Jake Dies (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) recorded a team-high seven kills to go along with five blocks and five digs, while
Will Zimmerman (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley) recorded five kills and four digs.
Ethan Cooper (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) recorded a team-best 18 assists.
Wells was led by Connor Garvey who recorded nine kills and nine digs. Confidence Burrowes recorded five kills and two digs, while Jacob Sehn recorded a game-high 14 digs. Mason Moon recorded 19 assists.
The Tomcats will hit the road for the first of four straight road games when they travel to Geneva on Saturday. The AMCC match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
