GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 Saturday with a 16-4 non-conference win over the Mount Aloysius Mounties at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.
Thiel dominated from the start, opening the game on a 6-0 run.
Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) scored three goals during the 6-0 stretch while
Skylar Garlick (Fort Loudon, Pa./James Buchanan) scored twice.
Heaven Fitch (Baltimore, Md./Greater Grace Christian Academy) also contributed a goal.
Wightman went on to record 10 points (8G, 2A). She also recorded eight draw controls, four caused turnovers and three ground balls. Garlick tallied seven points (2G, 5A). Fitch scored two goals to go along with six ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Katie Figinski led the Mounties with two goals and six draw controls.
Madison Liggett (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) made seven saves for the Tomcats. Zoe Swank mad five saves for the Mounties.
Thiel (2-0) will host the Keuka Wolves (0-1) Wednesday at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
