LITTLE RIVER, S.C. – The Thiel College softball team concluded play in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic Saturday. Thiel defeated the Keene State Owls 1-0 before falling to the SUNY Poly Wildcats 7-1.

Kayla Roddy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) struck out six batters and refused to give up a run in Thiel's 1-0 win over the Keene State Owls.
Roddy, who pitched all seven innings, allowed seven hits without giving up a walk. The Owls stranded eight baserunners in the loss.
Kylie Heid (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley) scored the only run the Tomcats would need in the sixth inning when
Alaina Fedder (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield Area) grounded out to third base.

Riley Ladd (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) and
Sophia Householder (Conneaut, Ohio/Conneaut) each had one single.
Keene's Lilah Demmy struck out 11 batters and allowed just four hits in the loss.
SUNY Poly 7, Thiel 1
The SUNY Poly Wildcats took a 3-0 lead in the third inning and never looked back in a 7-1 win over the Tomcats.
Abby Rottman (Hilliards, Pa./Moniteau) scored Thiel's run in the seventh inning on Heid's double to left field.
Heid went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Rottman also doubled.
Trinity Critelli limited Thiel to five hits. She struck out seven batters and issued four walks.
Thiel is scheduled to host Penn State Fayette on Tuesday. The first game of the non-conference doubleheader is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
