FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Thiel College baseball team wrapped up spring training play with a 8-2 loss to the Lasell Lasers Saturday morning.
Thiel was led by
Aidan Ochs (Rostraver Township, Pa./Belle Veron) who went 2-for-4.
Ethan Bintrim (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) went 1-for-4 with two RBIs that came on a two-run homer in the fourth inning.
Kolten Kruszewski (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) and
Joseph Fell (Warren, Ohio/Champion) each earned a hit as well.
Garrison Martin (Beloit, Ohio/West Branch) started on the mound for the Tomcats, going three innings with three strikeouts.
Mason Suss (Monongahela, Pa./Ringgold) pitched 2 2/3 innings with four strikeouts.
Archie Teconchuk (Warren, Pa./Warren) and
Josh Daum (Tionesta, Pa./North Clarion) pitched in relief.
Lasell was led by Connor Freit who went 3-for-4 at the plate. Scott Lyon went 1-for-5 with two RBIs, while CJ Mills went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Jeremy Blackwood started for the Lasers, going four innings with two strikeouts. Zachary Simone earned the win with five scoreless innings in relief.
The Tomcats will return to Tomcat Park on Wednesday when they host the Hiram Terriers in the home opener. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
