GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team lost a non-conference game to the Trine Thunder, 3-0, Friday night at Maenpa Court at Beeghly Gymnasium.
Trine won by set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-23.
Thiel was led by
Tyler Hussey (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) who recorded seven kills and two blocks.
David Gonzalez (El Paso, Texas/Eastwood) recorded four kills and 10 digs, while
Kaleb Proudfoot (Butler, Pa./Butler) recorded three kills and three blocks.
Bryce Lizanich (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) recorded three kills and a block.
Eli Olszowka (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) recorded a team-high 14 assists.
Trine was led by Kevin Boncaro who recorded 15 kills and three blocks. Matt Stillman recorded six kills and seven blocks, while Ted Hofmesiter recorded six kills and three digs. Hunter Haas recorded 14 digs, while Nick Woolley recorded 27 assists.
The Tomcats open up Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play on Wednesday when they host Penn State Behrend. The conference match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
