GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team defeated the Chatham Cougars in a non-conference game, 3-0, Monday night at Maenpa Court at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats won in straight sets 25-15, 25-17, 25-13.
Thiel was efficient throughout the night, hitting .392 as a team compared to the Cougars .063.
Thiel was led by
Kaleb Proudfoot (Butler, Pa./Butler) who recorded 10 kills, two blocks and four digs.
David Gonzalez (El Paso, Texas/Eastwood) recorded six kills, five digs and three service aces, while
Bryce Lizanich (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) recorded six kills and three digs.
Jake Dies (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) recorded five kills, while
Jackson Claypoole (Ford City, Pa./Armstrong) recorded two kills.
Ben Lowell (Portland, Ore./Sunset) recorded a game-high 33 assists, while
Cameron Long (Rock Hill, S.C./Legion Collegiate Academy) recorded a team-best nine digs.
Chatham was led by Benjamin Shelestak who recorded eight kills and three digs. Tyler McKnight recorded four kills, while Maximilian recorded four kills and one service ace. Alex Moncello recorded a team-best 11 assists, while Luis Carrasquillo recorded a team-best eight digs.
The Tomcats will host the Trine Thunder in the second game of a four-game homestand on Friday. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
