GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College wrestling team defeated the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets 26-22 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match Friday at Maenpa Court at Beeghly Gymnasium.
Thiel improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in PAC play with the win.
Thiel led Waynesburg 17-0 after three bouts.
Evan Whiteside (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) accounted for five of the 17 points after he won by technical fall (20-3, 5:16) over JT Hollyfield in the 141-pound bout.
Waynesburg went on to win the next five matches and held a 22-17 lead heading into the 197-pound match.

Jared Curcio (Avonmore, Pa./Kiski Area) cut Waynesburg's lead down to 22-20 after he won by decision (9-3) over Ayden Bishoff. Thiel earned the victory when
Seth Phillips (Hubbard, Ohio/Western Reserve) won by forfeit at 285 pounds.
