WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game on the road to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at John F. Wiley Stadium.
Waynesburg scored their three goals in the opening 15 minutes of the match, including grabbing an early 1-0 lead just two minutes into the match.
For the Yellow Jackets, Tyler Mohrbacher recorded two goals, while Zachary Johnson recorded one goal.
For the Tomcats, senior
AJ Trobek (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) led the team with four shots.
Hunter Blatt (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) recorded two shots, while
Grant Becker (North Olmsted, Ohio/North Olmsted) recorded a shot on goal.
Freshman
Bryce Stefanowicz (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) got the start in goal for the Tomcats, recorded one save.
Nick Kristian (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) finished the game, recorded seven saves.
For the Yellow Jackets, Michael Francus recorded four saves in the shutout.
The Tomcats return to PAC play on Wednesday when they travel to Grove City. The conference game ois scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
