GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team dropped its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener to the Washington and Jefferson Presidents, 3-0, Wednesday night at Alumni Stadium.
The Presidents broke the deadlock in the 41
st minute after the Tomcats gave away a penalty.
Washington and Jefferson went into halftime up 1-0.
The Presidents doubled their lead in the 80
th minute through another penalty kick through Ethan Bowser. Washington and Jefferson rounded out the scoring after Jimmy Gogol chipped the Tomcats goalkeeper.
The Tomcats were led by
AJ Trobek (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) who recorded seven shots.
Neko Hatton (Bryans Road, Md./Henry E. Lackey) and
Hunter Blatt (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) recorde two shots apiece.
Bowser led the Presidents with two goals and an assist. He also recorded four shots, with all four being on target. Justin Parker Wyatt recorded three shots.
In goal,
Bryce Stefanowicz (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) recorded seven saves, while his counterpart Charles Boldosser earned the shutout.
The Tomcats hit the road for a PAC game against the Geneva Golden Tornadoes. The conference game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
