AUSTIN, Texas – Thiel College senior defender
Alex Andreozzi (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) was named to the 2023 Academic All-America At-Large First Team Wednesday, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
A double major in business administration and philosophy, Andreozzi graduated
summa cum laude with departmental honors and owned a 4.0 grade-point average. One of his class valedictorians, he also received the dean's key at commencement as an eight-semester Dean's List student.
He was a Thiel College Student of the Month in March and is also a member of Chi Alpha Sigma.
An All-PAC Honorable Mention in 2022 in lacrosse, Andreozzi has qualified for the PAC Academic Honor Roll four times.
After starting all 13 games this season, Andreozzi was fourth on the team in ground balls (37) and tied for second on the team in caused turnovers (23). Andreozzi concluded his career with 121 ground balls, good for the 11
th most in program history.
Andreozzi is the second Thiel student-athlete to earn Academic All-American honors this year after
Raquel McDonald was named to the Women's Volleyball Academic All-American Second Team in December.
