Tomcats fall to Cougars

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Chatham Cougars Saturday at Alumni Stadium, 16-6.
 
Thiel trailed by just a goal (2-1) after the first quarter. However, the Cougars outscored the Tomcats 6-0 in the second frame and never looked back in earning the conference win.
 
Chase Lawler (Etters, Pa./Red Land) led the Tomcats with three points (2G, 1A). Bennett Medyn (Macedon, N.Y./Palmyra Macedon) scored two goals.
 
Jacob Lubawy tallied seven points (3G, 4A) for Chatham while Alex Stanuikynas scored five goals.
 
Jason Masciantonio (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) made 10 saves for Thiel. Brett Zaruba also made 10 saves for Chatham.
 
The Tomcats will return to action Wednesday when they face the Medaille Mavericks on the road. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
