AURORA, N.Y. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team defeated the Wells Express in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match, 3-0, Wednesday night.
The Tomcats won in straight sets 25-14, 25-9, 25-13.
Thiel was led by
Tyler Hussey (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) who recorded a game-high 10 kills.
David Gonzalez (El Paso, Texas/Eastwood) recorded nine kills, four service aces and four digs.
Will Zimmerman (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley) recorded eight service aces, seven kills and seven digs.
James Cromwell-Young (Virginia Beach, Va./Green Run) recorded one block.
Josh Pugh (Wexford, Pa./Pine Richland) recorded a game-high 18 assists, while
Josh Hovan (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) recorded a game-high eight digs.
Wells was led by Connor Garvey who recorded four kills, three blocks and three digs. Mason Moon recorded two service aces and a team-high 10 assists.
The Tomcats will head to Geneva on Saturday for a tri-match with the Golden Tornadoes and the Alderson Broaddus Battlers. The Tomcats will play Geneva at 1:00 p.m. before concluding the tri-match against the Battlers at 3:00 p.m.
