GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team defeated the Wells Express in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match, 3-0, Tuesday night.
Thiel won in straight sets 25-15, 25-11, 25-11.
Thiel was led by freshman
Will Zimmerman (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley) who tallied a game-high eight kills.
Tyler Hussey (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) and
Jake Dies (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) each notched six kills, and
David Gonzalez (El Paso, Texas/Eastwood) notched five kills. Hussey added a team-high eight digs, while
Josh Pugh (Wexford, Pa./Pine Richland) added seven digs.
Dies also added two blocks and a game-high eight service aces. Pugh also added a game-high 18 assists.
Wells was led by Harrison Keena who notched six kills and a game-high 11 digs. Confiedence Burrows and Connor Garvey notched six kills apiece. Mason Moon added 17 assists.
The Tomcats will go for their third consecutive AMCC victory when they travel to Penn-State Altoona on Friday. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
