ERIE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team lost an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match to the Penn-State Behrend Lions, 3-0.
The Tomcats lost in straight sets, 25-20, 25-19, 25-22.
The Tomcats were led by
Zac Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) who recorded 11 kills and 13 digs.
JC Govannucci (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) recorded eight kills and five digs, while
Jake Dies (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) recorded six kills and three blocks.
Josh Pugh (Wexford, Pa./Pine Richland) recorded a team-high 30 assists.
Penn-State Behrend was led by Owen Wienczkowski who tallied 12 kills and three blocks. Adrian Martinez recorded 11 digs, while Alex Jackson tallied 31 assists.
The Tomcats head to Wells College for a tri-match with Russell Sage on Saturday. The Tomcats will play Wells in an AMCC match at 1 p.m. Then, the Tomcats will close out the tri-match against Russell Sage at 5 p.m.
