GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team lost a non-conference game to the Medaille Mavericks Wednesday afternoon at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome, 21-11.
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) paced Thiel with six goals. Johnson also recorded six draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) scored five goals to go along with five draw controls.
Sara Geiser led Medaille with 10 points (3G, 7A) while Kara Anderson and Katelynn Deveans scored six goals apiece. Deveans also tallied eight draw controls.
Grace Carrizo (Franklin Square, N.Y./H. Frank Carey) made eight saves for Thiel. Tatiana Wright made five saves for Medaille.
The Tomcats (1-1) will host the Fredonia State Blue Devils (1-0) Saturday at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome. The non-conference game will begin at noon.
