GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team lost a non-conference game to the Muskingum Fighting Muskies Wednesday night at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome, 16-8.
Zach Melin (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) cut Muskingum's lead down to 8-4 when he scored an unassisted goal with 32 seconds remaining in the first half. Melin also scored on a man-up chance on a pass from
Pat Hartnett (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) with 11:43 remaining in the third quarter to make it a three-goal game (8-5). But Muskingum outscored Thiel 8-3 throughout the rest of the game to earn the non-conference win.
Melin led Thiel with five goals. Hartnett tallied five assists while
Bennett Medyn (Macedon, N.Y./Palmyra Macedon) recorded three points (2G, 1A).
Spencer Zecchini led the Fighting Muskies with eight points (6G, 2A).
Thiel's
Jason Masciantonio (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) and Muskingum's Trevor Connolly each made 17 saves.
Thiel will host Hilbert Saturday at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
