GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team opened its 2023 season Saturday with a 28-7 non-conference loss to the Mount Union Purple Raiders at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.
 
Chase Lawler (Etters, Pa./Red Land) paced the Tomcats with four goals. Bennett Medyn (Macedon, N.Y./Palmyra Macedon) scored two goals and added an assist for three points.
 
Logan Gebhart led Mount Union with 10 points (6G, 4A). Eli Ciotti (4G, 4A) and Logan Addonizio (4G, 4A) tallied eight points apiece.
 
Jason Masciantonio (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) made 19 saves for the Tomcats.
 
The Tomcats (0-1) will host the Muskingum Fighting Muskies (0-0) on Wednesday. The non-conference game will start at 7 p.m.
