GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team lost a non-conference game to the Hiram Terriers, 3-1, Friday night at Maenpa Court at Beeghly Gymnasium.
Hiram won the first sets with scores of 25-18, 25-19, before Thiel won the third set 25-18. Hiram finished the game with a 25-15 fourth set win.
Thiel was led by
Erica Gregory (Clinton Township, Mich./Fraser) who recorded a game-high 17 kills and 18 digs.
Emma Buchta (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) recorded 15 kills and 4 digs, while
Sarah Orr (Conneaut Lake, Pa./Conneaut Area) recorded 12 digs and a game-high 34 assists.
Freshman
Arin DeLattre (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) led Thiel with four blocks, while
Carlie Reynolds (Grove City, Pa./Grove City Area) recorded a game-high 39 digs.
For Hiram, Cate Maguire recorded 10 kills and three digs, while Emily Richardson recorded nine kills. Brooke Fishback recorded 23 digs and 20 assists.
The Tomcats return to conference play on Wednesday when they host the Washington and Jefferson Presidents. The conference game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
