GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team won a Presidents' Athletic Conference game against the Grove City Wolverines, 72-50, Thursday night.
The Tomcats opened up an eight-point lead halfway through the first half, and would go into halftime up 44-25.
The Tomcats shot 55% from the field in the first half, including 37% from beyond the arc. The Tomcats would finish the game shooting 42% from the field.
Thiel was led by junior guard
Marlon Ellerbee (Temple Hills, Md./Oxon Hill) who recorded 14 points to go along with four rebounds. This is the eighth time Ellerbee has had double-digit points this season. Freshman guard
Elijah Harden (Sharon, Pa./Kennedy Catholic) recorded 13 points, and freshman
Mike Brown (Clinton, Md./Gwynn Park) recorded nine points. Graduate forward
Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md./Saint Charles) recorded a game-high 13 rebounds to go along with eight points.
The Wolverines were led by Mike Christenson who recorded 15 points to go along with four boards. Christian Suceveanu had a team-high six rebounds.
The Tomcats look for their fourth consecutive win when they travel to Chatham on Saturday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
