ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Thiel College men's volleyball team lost a non-conference game to the Illinois Institute of Technology Scarlet Hawks, 3-0, Friday evening.
Illinois Institute of Technology won by set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-19.
Connor McInnis (Southington, Conn./Southington) and
JC Govannucci (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) led the Tomcats with six kills each. They also recorded four digs a piece.
Jake Dies (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) recorded five kills and a service ace.
David Gonzalez (El Paso, Texas/Eastwood) notched four kills and two digs.
Cameron Long (Rock Hill, S.C./Legion Collegiate Academy) had a game-high 11 digs.
Josh Pugh (Wexford, Pa./Pine Richland) notched a team-high 11 assists.
The Scarlet Hawks were led by Grant Couper who tallied a game-high 11 kills. Paul Henderson added four kills and nine digs. Elijah Johnson tallied a game-high 34 assists.
The Tomcats are back in action for two matches Saturday at the Raider Rumble. Thiel will play Mount St. Joseph at noon and Mount Union at 2 p.m.
