GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference match to the Geneva Golden Tornadoes, 3-0, Friday night.
The Tomcats would hold strong for a majority of the first half. But Geneva would find the breakthrough with just under a minute remaining in the first half. The Golden Tornadoes would double their lead just over ten minutes into the second half. The Golden Tornadoes would add a third just three minutes later to finish the scoring.
For the Tomcats, senior
Yuta Koike (Ichikawa, Jpn./) led the team with two shots on goal. Junior
AJ Trobek (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) and sophomore
Hunter Blatt (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) also recorded a shot on goal. In net, freshman
Nick Kristian (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) recorded a career high 11 saves in the match.
For the Golden Tornadoes, Cole Sauer led the team with two goals. Justin Finnegan also recorded a goal. Wil Dunda recorded two assists. In goal, Gabriel Kemp notched six saves in the match.
The Tomcats are back in action when they travel to Franciscan University Tuesday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference match. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
