GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Saint Vincent Bearcats Saturday at Alumni Stadium, 16-14.
Tailing 9-7 at halftime, Thiel cut Saint Vincent's lead down to a single goal three times in the second half.
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) tied up the game, 13-13, with 8:48 remaining in regulation, but the Bearcats responded with three straight goals to hold on for the conference win.
Johnson led the Tomcats with seven goals Saturday and reached the career 100-goal plateau. Johnson currently ranks fifth in program history in goals (101) and sixth in points (125). She also contributed three draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls on Saturday.
Maddy Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) scored five goals while also notching seven draw controls and two ground balls.
Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) scored two goals while also recording five draw controls, four caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Bridget Doyle led the Bearcats with nine points (5G, 4A) while Kaylee Bandow scored seven goals.
Madison Liggett (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) made nine saves for the Tomcats. Liggett also collected four ground balls. Kyra Lipetzky made 17 saves for the Bearcats.

The Tomcats will face the Chatham Cougars on the road Wednesday. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
