MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team lost its season opener Tuesday on the road to the Allegheny Gators, 14-4.
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) led Thiel with two goals. She also recorded three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) scored a goal, picked up six ground balls and tallied three caused turnovers. Freshman
Camy Seman (Conneautville, Pa./Conneaut Area) scored her first goal with the Tomcats while
Maddy Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) contributed five draw controls and a caused turnover.
Senna Perelman led Allegheny with five goals.
Madison Liggett (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) made 20 saves for the Tomcats. Sarah Thorman made nine saves for the Gators, who improved to 4-0 on the season.
The Tomcats will play their home opener against the La Roche Lady Redhawks on Wednesday, March 16. The non-conference game will begin at 5 p.m. at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.
