GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team lost a President's Athletic Conference game to the Geneva Golden Tornadoes, 90-65 on Thursday.
The Golden Tornadoes would grab an early 15-12 lead and would not look back. Geneva went into halftime up 44-24 and outscored the Tomcats 46-41 in the second half.
For the Golden Tornadoes, Trevor Tipton had a game-high 29 points. Lyle Tipton recorded a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Isaac Massie and Ryan Rachic also reached the double-digit point mark.
For the Tomcats, senior
Devin Christian (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) had a team-high 13 points. Sophmore
Ethan Barnes (Boynton Beach, Fla./Suncoast) recorded 10 points.
Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md./Saint Charles) had a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with eight points. Freshman
Mike Brown (Clinton, Md./Gwynn Park) had a game-high four assists.
The Tomcats shot 31% from the field, while Geneva shot 48%.
The Tomcats are back in action Saturday when they welcome the Washington and Jefferson Presidents to Maenpa Court at Beeghly Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
