SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team opened play Friday in the Bromwyn Keener/Amanda Swazey Superstar Invite, hosted by Susquehanna University, with a 3-0 win over the Vassar Brewers.
Thiel won by set scores of 25-13, 25-14, 25-16.
Maria Torres (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) led all players with 13 kills while also recording 12 digs.
Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) registered six kills while
Jordyn Liedike (Anchorage, Alaska/Grace Christian) and
Daisy Jenness (Pendleton, Oregon/Pendleton) had five kills apiece.
Brooke Talbot (Calcutta, Ohio/Beaver Local) and
Carlie Reynolds (Grove City, Pa. /Grove City Area) combined for 29 assists while
Danielle Aulet (Lawrence, Kansas/Mineral Ridge) notched a match-best 13 digs.
Morgan Miller recorded nine kills and seven digs for Vassar.
The Tomcats have won six of their last seven matches. Thiel will continue play in the Keener/Swazey Superstar Invite Saturday with matches against Susquehanna at 11 a.m. and Neumann at 3 p.m.
