GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Washington and Jefferson Presidents on Saturday, 55-0.
Washington and Jefferson held a 41-0 lead at halftime. Quarterback Jacob Pugh scored on a four-yard keeper for the first points of the game. Pugh rushed for his second touchdown of the day on a one-yard keeper to put the Presidents up 14-0.
Pugh accounted for three first-half touchdowns for the Presidents.
Pugh completed 13-of-19 passes for 189 yards. He rushed for two touchdowns and passed for one touchdown.
Colton Jones also completed 7-of-12 passes for 124 yards. He passed for one touchdown and threw an interception.
Alexander Kovalyak (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) completed 12-of-26 passes for 83 yards and threw an interception.
Zech Sanderson (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) also completed five passes.
Kaleb Donor (Meadville, Pa./Maplewood) led the Tomcats in rushing with 10 yards.
Jorden Collier (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln) also rushed for 10 yards.
Collier also led the Tomcats with 51 yards receiving on four catches.
Andre Rodgers (Euclid, Ohio/Benedictine) caught four passes for 25 yards.
For the Presidents, Raymond Holmes rushed for 43 yards on 10 attempts. John Peduzzi caught five passes for 93 yards.
Defensively, the Tomcats had two blocked kicks and an interception.
Caleb Shuler (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) blocked an extra point and
Jordan Volpe (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) blocked a field goal at the end of the first half, while
Randall Miller (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) had an interception.
Andrew Plowden (Homewood, Pa./Penn Hills Charter) led the Tomcats with seven tackles.
Jared Curcio (Avonmore, Pa./Kiski Area) and
Luke Faber (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) each had six tackles.
Bill McCready III (Warren, Ohio/Warren G. Harding) led the Tomcats with one tackle for a loss and two quarterback hurries.
Chad Morningstar (Saxton, Pa./Tussey Mountain) and
Jaellen Rose (Midlothian, Va./James River) combined for one sack.
Caleb Shuler (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) recorded two pass break-ups and had one tackle.
Justin Johns led the Presidents with ten tackles and a forced fumble. Dawson Dietz had two tackles for losses.
The Tomcats will host the Geneva Golden Tornadoes on Saturday. Kickoff for the PAC game is set for 12 p.m.
