GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets, 2-1, Saturday afternoon.
The Tomcats got on the board first in the 27
th minute off a goal from junior
AJ Trobek (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard). The Tomcats would go into the halftime break up 1-0.
The Yellow Jackets scored two goals in an eight-minute span to go ahead 2-1. That is how the game ended.
For the Tomcats, Trobek scored the team's only goal. Senior
Ethan Hause (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) earned his first career point with an assist. Junior
Evan Young (Suitland, Md./Henry E. Lackey) led the team with four shots. In net, senior
Noah Brieck (Kensington, Ohio/United) recorded five saves in the contest.
For the Yellow Jackets, Ben White and Alex Canestraro recorded a goal a piece. In net, goalkeeper Michael Francus recorded six saves in the contest.
The Tomcats are back in action when they welcome the Grove City Wolverines to Alumni Stadium on Tuesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
