GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) named Peyton Hearn (Conneaut, Pa./Conneaut Area) the Wrestler of the Week and Alexander Anderson (Warren, Pa./Warren) the Rookie of the Week on Monday for the week of January 24 through January 30.Â
Hearn finished the week 5-1 in two PAC duals against W&J and Waynesburg and the Jamestown Community College Open. In Thiel's 27-21 win over W&J, Hearn earned a pin over Seth Finnigan in 2:52 at 165 pounds to give Thiel a 27-3 lead and clinch the conference win. In Thiel's 42-6 win over Waynesburg, Hearn won by decision (7-0) over Seth Evans in the 165-pound bout. In the 157-pound bracket in the Jamestown Open, Hearn went 3-1 to place second, with a win by fall (1:29) and two wins by decision (13-7, 7-2) to advance to the title match and finished as the runner-up.Â
Anderson also helped Thiel defeat W&J and Waynesburg, with a pair of wins by fall in the 157-pound bouts. In Tuesday's win over W&J, he pinned Joshua Searle in 3:42. In Friday's win over Waynesburg, he pinned Kyle Hinerman in 2:46.Â
The Tomcats are currently 7-0, including 2-0 in the PAC. This week, they head to Baldwin Wallace for the John Summa Invite on Friday, starting at 10 a.m.Â
