BEREA, Ohio – The Thiel College women's volleyball team lost, 3-0, to the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets on Tuesday.
Baldwin Wallace got off to a strong start, winning the first set 25-11. In the second set, the Tomcats held close, but would drop the set 25-21. The Yellow Jackets maintained momentum in the third set and won it 25-11.
Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) and
Katie Stamp (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) led the Tomcats with four kills each. Eaton also added five digs.
Danielle Aulet (Austintown, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) led the team in both assists and digs, with eight and ten, respectively.
Erica Gregory (Clinton Township, Mich./Fraser) tallied two kills and six digs.
Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) totaled five assists with two digs.
For the Yellow Jackets, Lauren Reid led the game with 27 assists and added 10 digs. Lauren Gardner led with 15 digs. Cecilia Hamisch led the game with 11 kills.
The Tomcats will look to bounce back when they head to Brockport for the SUNY Brockport Tournament. The Tomcats are scheduled to face SUNY Brockport at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nazareth at 11 a.m. Saturday, and Rochester at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
