BRADFORD, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team was defeated, 1-0, by the Pitt-Bradford Panthers in a non-conference game Tuesday evening.
 
The game was in a 0-0 stalemate after the first half. The Panthers narrowly edged the Tomcats 9-7 in shots, but the teams were even with two shots on goal apiece. In the second half, the teams were again neck-and-neck, until the Panthers broke the scoreless tie with just 25 seconds remaining to win 1-0.
 
For the Tomcats, 
Dakota King (Parker, Pa./Karns City) led with four shots, two on goal. 
Evan Kosenina (Clinton, Pa./West Allegheny) and 
Zach Johns (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin Area) each had two shots and one shot on goal. 
Chase Yopp (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) also recorded a shot on goal. 
Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) made five saves and allowed just one goal in 90 minutes.
 
For the Panthers, Scott Compson scored the decisive goal. Goalkeeper Sihle Sizani recorded five saves in the shutout.
 
The Tomcats' next two games will be at the Hiram College Tournament. Thiel will take on Hiram on Friday at 7 p.m. and Defiance on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
