HIRAM, Ohio – The Thiel College men's soccer team tied, 0-0, in a non-conference match against the Hiram Terriers in double overtime Friday night.
The Terriers led in shots and shots on goal with 25 and 11, respectively. The Tomcats recorded 11 shots and five shots on goal. Hiram also led with 17 corner kicks to Thiel's four.
For the Tomcats, goalkeeper
Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) led the game with 11 saves in the shutout, his second time reaching double-digit saves this season.
Chase Yopp (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton),
Jacob Sirofchuck (Mercer, Pa./Mercer), and
Garret Smith (Warren, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) each recorded two shots and a shot on goal.
Nate Udell (Abington, Pa./Abington) and
Owen Collwell (East Brady, Pa./Karns City) also recorded a shot on goal apiece.
For the Terriers, Shelby Edwards recorded five saves. Joseph Suarez and Jason Martinez each tailed five shots, as well as three and two shots on goal, respectively.
The Tomcats conclude Hiram College Tournament play tomorrow when they take on Defiance at 6:30 p.m.
