GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team lost, 5-0, to the Medaille Mavericks in a non-conference game on Saturday.
The Mavericks got on the board around 10 minutes into the match. The Tomcats held tough, but the Mavericks extended their lead to 3-0 with two goals in a four-minute span to take a 3-0 lead into half. Medaille would add two more goals en route to the 5-0 final score.
For the Tomcats,
Dakota King (Parker, Pa./Karns City) and
Max Ravenscroft (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) each recorded shots on goal.
Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) recorded 12 saves, tied for the third most in his career as a Tomcat.
For the Mavericks, Charlie Stewart recorded two goals. Eric Metade notched a goal and an assist. Ander Castillo and Solomon Konesky also scored goals. David Mighten and Dante Gesamondo combined for a shutout.
The Tomcats will look to bounce back when they take on the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford on the road on Tuesday. The game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
