GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at Alumni Stadium Saturday night to the Saint Vincent Bearcats, 41-7.
Saint Vincent held a 14-0 lead near the midpoint of the first quarter on a pair of touchdown passes by Brady Walker. Molayo Irefin caught the first touchdown pass, a 25-yarder, while Kyle Silk scored on a 12-yard pass.
Billy Beck extended Saint Vincent's lead to 21-0 with 7:36 remaining in the first half when he scored on a 5-yard run.
Thiel got back into the game late in the second quarter when
DeAnthony Pendleton (Spotsylvania, Va./Spotsylvania) scored on a 4-yard run. Pendleton capped off the longest drive of the game, which covered 79 yards in 12 plays. The touchdown was set up on a 24-yard pass from
Alexander Kovalyak (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) to
Jake Reddick (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) down to the Bearcat 16-yard line.
The second half belonged to the Bearcats, who outscored the Tomcats 20-0 over the final 30 minutes.
Walker completed 15-of-22 passes for 275 yards. He threw three touchdown passes on the night. Keith Kalp caught four passes for 117 yards with one touchdown. Irefin caught six passes for 108 yards and a score.
Kovalyak completed six passes for 65 yards.
Owen Trumbull (Bear Lake, Pa./Eisenhower) completed four passes for 32 yards.
Deon Logan (Richmond, Va./James River) led the Tomcats on the ground with 43 yards on 15 attempts. Pendleton ran for 20 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.
Reddick caught two passes for 30 yards while
Donnovan Blue (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) caught two passes for 25 yards.
Joanes Polynice led the Bearcats with 12 tackles.
Ryan Stiles (Anchorage, Alaska/Service) led Thiel with six tackles and a sack.
Darien Mosley (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco H.S. & Center for the Arts) picked off a pass while
Malik Beckford (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) and
Raymond Jackson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) broke up two passes apiece.
The Tomcats will host the Westminster Titans Saturday at Alumni Stadium during homecoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
