GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team defeated the Westminster Titans Saturday in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at Alumni Stadium, 20-5.
Alex Geraci (Garrettsville, Ohio/Crestwood),
Mackenzie Quinn (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) and
Emily Ramous (Bridgeville, Pa./Chartiers Valley) were honored prior to the game during Senior Day.
After Westminster scored the opening goal of the game Thiel responded with five straight goals, two apiece from Geraci and
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western). Quinn scored Thiel's sixth goal, which would count as the eventual game-winner, with 18:31 remaining in the first half.
Quinn led the Tomcats with nine points (7G, 2A) while Johnson tallied a hat trick.
Ashlyn Wightman (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) recorded three points (2G, 1A) while also contributing eight draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Maddy Wightman (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) registered three points (2G, 1A) to go along with six draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Emiley Kushner paced the Titans with two goals.
Ramous made eight saves in 60 minutes to earn the win. Emma Bradley made 15 saves for Westminster.
The Tomcats (5-1, 3-1 PAC) will take on the Washington & Jefferson Presidents on the road Wednesday. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
