PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team lost to the Chatham Cougars, 6-0, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Friday.
The game was scoreless for the first 44 minutes until the Cougars broke the drought with a goal at the 44:11 mark going into halftime. After halftime, the Cougars built momentum and brought the final score to 6-0.
For the Tomcats,
Anthony Phillips (Hanoverton, Ohio/United Local) and
Rodney Washburn (Vandalia, Ohio/Butler) registered shots on goal.
Yuta Koike (Ichikawa, Jpn./) and
Jacob Sirofchuck (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) also had shot attempts.
Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) started and saved nine shots in 47:44.
Noah Brieck (Kensington, Ohio/United Local) played the remaining 42:16 and saved three shots.
The Cougars were led by Pascal Despinos with three goals in the second half. Goalkeeper Timmy Creamer made three saves in the shutout.
The Tomcats will play their final regular season game on Thursday, hosting Saint Vincent at 3 p.m.
