GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team was defeated by the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets, 2-0, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game on Tuesday.
 
Both teams were scoreless through the first half, but the Yellow Jackets broke the drought shortly after halftime. This would be the only goal needed, but Waynesburg would add an insurance goal to bring the final score to 2-0.
 
For the Tomcats, Anthony Phillips (Hanoverton, Ohio/United Local), Brock Newsome (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde), and Rodney Washburn (Vandalia, Ohio/Butler) each recorded a shot on goal. Garret Smith (Warren, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) also attempted two shots. Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) saved 12 shots, his fourth game this season reaching double-digit saves.
 
For the Yellow Jackets, Daniel Hott and Jeremiah Cruz scored the two goals. Goalkeeper Adam Dolan notched three saves in the shutout.
 
The Tomcats' next game will be in Pittsburgh against the Chatham Cougars on Friday. The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start time.
