LATROBE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team lost an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match on the road Sunday to the Saint Vincent Bearcats, 3-1.
Thiel lost the first set 20-25 but went on to win the second game 25-20. The Bearcats won the third set 26-24 before winning the fourth game 25-20.
Zac Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) led the Tomcats with 16 digs and 12 kills.
Dakota Forrest (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) tallied 10 digs and seven kills.
Jonathan Burkley (Waterford, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) also recorded seven kills while
Nick Koorsen (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler Area) registered 20 assists.
Matthew Minkin led the Bearcats with 14 kills and 13 digs. Matthew Klasnic and Joshua Welteroth both recorded 16 digs while Matthew Furrer handed out 39 assists.
The Tomcats will return to action Tuesday when they host the Penn State Altoona Lions at Beeghly Gymnasium. The AMCC match is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
